What does a LLEN do?

The Local Learning & Employment Networks help young people to grow and thrive within their local community.  The BGKLLEN is one of 31 LLEN’s operating around Victoria to provide vital support to youth at risk of disengaging from their local community.

The LLENs work closely with schools, community organisations and local businesses to provide support for young people where it is most needed. Each LLEN operates within different geographical boundaries, and focus on the issues that are most pressing for young people in their community.

  • Structured Workplace Learning – Providing support for young people enrolled in VET subjects to find work placements with local employers.
  • Hands Up! – Organising volunteer placements for students with learning differences with local, community facing organisations.
  • Research & Publications – We try and keep our finger on the pulse, and find new areas where support and guidance for young people in our local community are needed.
