Find out more about the SWL program

The Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) program connects students with local employers.

Find out more about how SWL operates and can benefit your business by watching the video below:

What is the SWL program?

Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) is on-the-job training that is required to extend classroom learning within a nationally recognised vocational education and training (VET) course. Students undertake these certificates as part of their Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL).This is a great opportunity to raise your company’s profile in the community, whilst influencing young people’s career choices. It is also a great way to grow your own employee; you might like to take on the student for SWL, then offer them a School Based Apprenticeship or Training (SBAT) position or employment. The BGKLLEN actively support and promote businesses offering SWL placements in the local community.

Interested in getting involved?

We are currently looking for employers in the Bayside, Glen Eira and Kingston areas who are interested in taking on a student for their SWL Placement and are happy to answer any questions that you may have about the program.
