BGKLLEN Applied Learning Awards
The inaugural BGKLLEN Applied Learning Awards (BALA), took place on 14 October 2025 at the Leonardian Centre, St Leonard’s College. This event celebrated the achievements of students from across Bayside, Glen Eira and Kingston who excelled in applied learning pathways through the VCE VM, VET and VPC programs.
Our keynote speaker, David Gallagher, brought over 50 years of experience in secondary education, having shaped applied learning across Victoria through his work in VET, VCAL and careers education. We were also delighted to have Ben Vasiliou, CEO of The Man Cave, as our special guest presenter.
The 2025 awards were proudly supported by Community Bank Highett, our major sponsor. Their generosity made it possible to recognise and celebrate the outstanding efforts of students who demonstrated innovation, perseverance and commitment to their learning journeys. Awards were presented across several categories, including the Future Vocational Award, Future Educational Award, VCE & VM Student of the Year, VET Student of the Year, Work based Learning Student of the Year and VPC Student of the Year.
